It helps strengthen and boost the immune system – Citrus fruits, particularly lemons, are jam-packed full of highly beneficial vitamins, especially vitamin C which the body absolutely thrives upon. Vitamin C has been proven to help strengthen and boost the immune system, which is the body’s natural defence against illness and disease. By putting more vitamin C into our bodies, our immune systems become stronger and more efficient, which benefits us in numerous ways. To begin with, they can help protect us against more common illnesses and ailments such as the common cold, which is beneficial in itself, but perhaps more exciting still, is that other more serious conditions such as cancer, can also be prevented.


Lemons are packed full of antioxidants – Another benefit of lemons is that they’re packed full of antioxidants, which again helps to promote health and well-being in a number of ways. Antioxidants help to rid the body of harmful toxins and free-radicals, which not only protects our organs, it also helps to again protect us from cancer. Free radicals and toxins can invade the boy and attack our cells via oxidation, causing them to oxidize. This process can then cause them to mutate and change shape on a molecular level, eventually turning pre-cancerous, and if left overtime, turning cancerous thus leading to cancer. Antioxidants destroy these free radicals before they have time to attack our cells, and can therefore help to prevent numerous strains of cancer and other health conditions.


They’re great for our blood vessels – Lemons are naturally rich in vitamin P also referred to as bioflavinoids which provides numerous benefits, particularly to the blood vessels and circulation in general. Vitamin P helps to prevent internal haemorrhaging by strengthening the blood vessels. On top of that, it also boosts circulation and can help to reduce hypertension, also known as high blood pressure.


They can help destroy kidney stones and gall stones – Gall stones and kidney stones are incredibly painful and are caused by mineral deposit build ups, especially calcium, which solidify internally, forming small stones, which the body then tries to pass and excrete, causing severe pain in the process.
