Take an aspirin a day – Many health and fitness experts recommend taking one aspirin a day in order to help reduce your risk of suffering from a heart attack as aspirin helps to act as a natural blood thinner. It is also rich in an active compound called salicylic acid, which has been proven to help treat dandruff and is actually the same active ingredient found in many anti-dandruff shampoos. To get the most out of aspirin for dandruff however, you don’t consume it, you instead should take two pills, crush them into a fine powder, and add them to shampoo when you wash your hair, effectively turning regular shampoo in anti-dandruff shampoo. Leave it on for two minutes, and rinse thoroughly.

Tea tree oil – Tea tree oil is a fantastic natural herbal ingredient that has been proven to have a very beneficial effect on dandruff sufferers indeed. The oil is anti-bacterial, it is packed full of healing properties, and of course, the oil itself helps to lubricate the scalp and hair. Either look for shampoos with natural tea tree oil, or alternatively you can add a few drops of the oil to regular shampoos and wash your hair as you would normally.

Apple cider vinegar – Apple cider vinegar is an incredibly healthy and beneficial ingredient which benefits the body in many different ways, one of which is the fact that it helps to treat and prevent dandruff. The reason for this is that as it is so acidic, it helps to alter the PH levels of your scalp, which in turn makes it much more difficult for yeast and bacteria to form, which can result in dandruff. To use apple cider vinegar, simply mix around a quarter of a cup of the vinegar with fresh water in a spray bottle, and then generously spray your scalp. Leave the mixture for around 30 – 60 minutes, and then wash it like usual. Repeat this process again a few days later, totalling twice each week.
